28-29 January 2010 were excellent days. Although no pictures were taken to document Thursday the 28th, I figure I need to mention that studio was excellent. We set up our work spaces, went shopping for a t-square (which Barcelona appears to be fresh out of), and sketched. The studio space is a nice and peaceful place to work during the late afternoon. The day went by quickly and was over in no time but the late night was the most hectic night of the year so far. View Full Article »
27 January 2010 was a relaxed day. It began with spanih and our Gaudí class which seems to be an all arhitecture class now. After finishing a brief history of Barcelona and Catalunya, we were set free in the “typical” cold Barcelona weather. View Full Article »
26 January 2010 was a very nice Tuesday for 4 reasons: First of all, the weather was not our typical “Barcelona weather” but sunny, warm, and enjoyable (inside joke about how the weather for January has been cold and rainy, atypical for the Mediterranean city). 23 Saturday turned out to be a nicer day then the Weather Channel had predicted. We started in my neck of the woods at Pl. John F Kennedy and hiked up towards the tibidabo peak, following the same path Hannah and I took a few weeks prior. Once on the hillside, we turned on a little road, hit a trail and then found a road on the hill where many locals ride bikes and run. Our group was large today, including students in CIEE’s Business and Architecture programs with 57 people. View Full Article »
22 January was a day of exams and marked the end of our intensive Spanish and City in Visual Culture classes. For the next few months, we will begin studios and other classes (while still taking Spanish, just not every day). The day was filled with excitement due to the awesome warm weather and early release. View Full Article »
21 January 2010 marks the day we had our first Spanish exams, the end of our visual culture class, and the day I caught up in writing my posts. The day was perfect, blue skies, sun shine, warm temperature, and excitement. View Full Article »
20 January 2010 was a good day for checking out some of the jewels Barcelona has hidden away. We began the warm yet cloudy day with an onsite class at the Pavello de la Republica in the Vallcarca neighborhood of Barcelona. View Full Article »
19 January 2010 was yet another rainy day in Barcelona – oh well. We reviewed films that feature or has the city as the backdrop. Of the movies we reviewed, my favorites were the Spanish Apartment and Vicky Christina Barcelona. We also watched some spanish and french films that were not in english. View Full Article »
